KCS 5010 is southbound at Godfrey, Ill., on April 27, 2019, with train M-KCVN (Manifest-Kansas City to Venice, Ill.). While this low angle enhances the length of this GEVO, though similar to GE’s ET44AC, the newer ES44AC is 16 inches longer. – Tony Cook photo
Kansas City Southern’s ET44AC Tier 4s
Kansas City Southern’s (KCS) group of 25 General Electric ET44AC Tier 4 began arriving in 2018. In the Second Quarter 2021 edition of Diesel Era, you’ll see this collection of contemporary GEVOs. The color presentation provides various angles and a run through the group of units making up 5000-5024 on the road’s roster.
